Born in Oporto (Portugal), it was with a very young age that Nuno Nóvoa aka dj.smile has developed a natural passion for the music mostly and greatfully through his lovely grandfather a well know portuguese saxophonist,and folowed by his father that worked at several radio station and as road manager of some bands promoting some live concerts, also coming along his own respect and love by all music genres, anyway it was just after 1997 Nuno Nóvoa begins to establish contacts with music festivals, rave partys, djs , promoters, clubs and dance music fans.
In 1998 it's when Nuno Nóvoa decides to start his own professional dj career, back in the days playing some oldschool flavour beats and techno music. Since the start, around 1998 dj.smile did many appearences all over his own country and islands, also with lots of performances on his neighbour country, Spain.
During all the process he also used two years of the daylight, working in a record shop called "Discomundo" at "Park Italia".
On the last 7 years,Dj.smile was resident dj and promoter of two press awarded projects named: The Oporto Official After-Hours; and ..PrayStation.. ,Both located at ..Mare Alta Boat.. beeing now very well known all around the world mostly because about is particular location at Douro River mixed with all the help and support given by all top djs that were invited to performance there. Just to name some, Litlle "Louie" Vega, Francois Kevorkian, Dixon, Yellow, Alex kid, Sasse, Brooks, E-Man, Tiefshwarz, David Alvarado, Sian, Ata, Charles Webster, Demi, Robert Owens, Sandy Rivera, Rob Melo, dj Vibe, Rui da Silva, dj Jiggy, Frank Maurel, Phil Asher, among others.
After 2006 Dj smile and his good friend Mingus has created a band called (Boyfriends r' Tools) that are now working hard producing many tracks for several labels.
